The Seniors Legacy Foundation was established to advocate for the permanent
abolition of the Federal Estate Tax, an inheritance tax that is suitably titled the
Death Tax. It is our firm conviction that any wealth accumulated over the life of an American citizen belongs to that citizen and that it is among the rights of citizens to dispose of their wealth as they see fit.

One important reason is that taxes have already been paid on accumulated wealth. Taxing it again just because it passes from one generation to another is unfair. Furthermore, inheritance taxes can so cripple a business as to force its inheriting owners to sell out or go into bankruptcy.
